A year ago, I hung a metal bottle-cap catcher on my back porch for catching the only thing separating me from a nice cold one on a hot afternoon. This morning the only thing residing in the catcher was a new bird’s nest, complete with 2 eggs.
In this season of extreme crisis – the likes our country has not seen in my lifetime – I’m reminded of Jesus’ words in Matthew 6:26, where he encouraged people to remember if our Father provides for the needs of birds, will He not also provide for us who are of much greater value?
The answer is an eternal, “Yes, He will!”
As you lead front-line ministries and congregations in communities where virus reigns and finances disintegrate, may you rest in Jesus’ promise of compassionate provision.
And may your presence be a divine multiplier of God’s love in this great time of need.
