Here are a few questions you might find yourself asking about this event. Still have a question? Email or text Julie, our event coordinator at any time. jjudman@fivetwo.com or 713-594-0701
Let’s start with everyone’s first question:
What’s the catch?
Ah, yes, “the catch”. For events like these, we have what we like to call a “no-catch catch”. Let me tell you our ‘ask’ up-front.
When we introduce people to FiveTwo, they usually find themselves in one of three categories:
- For some people, they learn about FiveTwo but decide we’re not a fit for their portfolio of causes. Yet they have friends for whom FiveTwo may be a fit. If that’s where you land, you should steward God’s resources as He leads you. And we’d be honored if you introduce us to friends who might take a deeper interest in our ministry.
- For most people, they are intrigued enough about FiveTwo and our unique approach that they make a financial gift of significance and become a close friend of FiveTwo. Some of them even make FiveTwo one of their ‘top three causes.’ Which is awesome.
- For a handful of people, they have an extreme sense of calling that they are meant to join with us in some deep missional way. Usually these individuals not only make a financial gift of significance, they also join FiveTwo with a deep gift of time. Sometimes by joining our board. Sometimes by forming a close mentoring relationship with one or more of our sacred starters.
So there’s no upfront commitment you have to make or guilt-induced donation you’ll be pressed into. Instead, we trust – and we anticipate you will trust – that the Holy Spirit will reveal what, if anything, you’re meant to do at the end of your time with us. It might be just to enjoy a night with friends and great food, it might be to build a lifelong ministry relationship. Regardless, there’s no catch. We trust God knows what He’s doing, and whatever He brings out of you being with us will be a great blessing. It will definitely be a great time.
When should I get there?
The doors will open at 6:00pm. They’ll be brewery tours at 6:15pm and 6:45pm. We’d love for you to arrive a little early, grab a beer, check out the brewery, and mingle. If you need more time, we get it. That’s why we won’t start dinner until 7:00 p.m.
I have a friend/neighbor/postman/SOMEONE who would love to hear what you guys do. Can I invite them?
Yes! We’d love for you to be thinking of others you think would love our work and want to learn more about our ministry….and have a fun night at a cool venue with some great people. Email Julie Judman at jjudman@fivetwo.com and she can help you. Our event is capped at 100 people, so make sure you ask early!
It’s at a brewery…so only beer?
While I personally love Saint Arnolds and their beer lineup, we know it’s not for everyone. There will also be a selection of red and white wine available, as well as hard cider and even sparkling water on tap!
What should I wear?
The vibe at Saint Arnold is fun. We like to think we are too. Let’s keep it “Dressy Casual”. Jeans? Sure. Dress? That’s great. Blazer? …it is Houston in August so that’s your call.
