2-Minute Multiplier: Approach

I’m struggling with hitting my irons in golf. Especially when approaching the green and anticipating being there after hitting the ball.

Confidence oozes out of my driver. It flows from my wedges and putter. It runs in terror from my irons.

Which is extremely sad since the irons are relatively new and supposed to be an answer to prayer. (Someone will send me an email about it’s not the clubs but the one swinging them. Have some compassion, please.)

I visited a golf instructor who pointed out how my golf ball is out of position in my stance. Resulting in mishits and nerves of noodles.

Since he is an expert – literally – I did what he suggested. Almost immediately the ball went where I wanted it to. The confidence returned. Greens, here I come.

Expert advice, when followed and when it comes true, replaces fear with confidence.

So often in life we sense we need wisdom beyond ourselves. Wisdom beyond our peers.

Our struggles need divine intervention. Our mistakes, divine fixing. Our brokenness, divine healing.

How extremely sad it is when I hear someone unwilling to take her struggles or his mistakes to their Creator. They lack confidence in what the divine response will be.

They avoid the greatest gift God can give.

When you don’t trust Jesus and His unconditional love, you’re unsure of approaching God.

When you trust His unconditional love for you, approaching God your Father becomes your standard go-to response.

“Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” -Hebrews 4.16

Where are you in need of grace? Where do you need help today?

Approach Jesus. He’s got the right answer.
