One of our nieces confirmed her faith in Jesus last weekend.
Confirmed as in “I need a Savior and Jesus is it.”
Confirmed as in “…being confident of this, that He who began a good work in me will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1.6)
Confirmed as in years ago Jesus claimed her in baptism. Made her part of His Family. Built a new room just for her. Bought her new clothes. Gave her a new name. Invited her to all the meals. Sent a far-sighted Guide into her life. Secured her future well-being.
Promised that everything that happens to her will be for her ultimate good.
All before she got it. Or understood it. Or fully comprehended it. [As if she’ll ever do that this side of heaven but that’s for another morning.]
All because He loved her. Always has. Always will.
So now it was her turn.
Her turn to let that divine Sage in her speak.
Her turn to nod her head in time with her heart.
Her turn to publicly say “Yes!” to the One who had already said, “Yes!” to her.
Confirming in a new way the old work Jesus had begun in her that initial bath day.
It was a great day.
