My office is starting to look like a Hollywood set. The low-budget variety.
Tripod. Light kits. Tape on the floor for where I’m to stand. A mic that makes me sound radio-caliber. A light reflector that could double as a sun shade for an 18-wheeler.
Evidently my face needs lots of light. #Truth
The new equipment is part of creating the video elements for the digital version of our StartNew training. This has been in the works for months. The rocket should take off late summer. Uber-exciting.
The not-so-exciting is the change required in how I work. Launching a new rocket adds a different strain of to-do than keeping the current one flying.
Someone once taught me that changing behaviors entails changing values.
What you do with your time is joined at the hip with what you love with your heart.
– What new direction is Jesus calling you to today?
– What new behaviors or skills has He impressed on your heart as necessary?
– What must you let go of in order to take hold of this new way of behaving?
Commit this new path to Him in prayer.
Commit this new path to a friend or colleague in word and calendar.
New can be scary. New is exhausting. But new opens doors to growth.
Growing is good.
