Many of us face new unwanted realities this morning. Furloughed. Laid off. Closed. Entering bankruptcy.
New realities not of our own choosing, but needing to be dealt with and faced.
Jeremiah reminds us that along with our new realities come God’s great compassions. They are new every morning, never failing.
I like how Jeremiah made that plural. Not just one act of compassion but an abundance. Multiple. Repeated. Enough for every unwanted, unfolding reality.
They protect me from being consumed by the worries of chaotic change.
I experience compassion through people. Their words and hugs, especially their presence.
God in His mercy has woven compassion through the world, making it a trait we all long for, a characteristic we all value.
Compassion opens hearts, drawing us closer to God’s. May you experience compassions in abundance today.
