“I felt unequipped for the job God was calling me to do.”
This is how Laura Storm of Foster Together felt before she teamed up with FiveTwo.
Watch how Foster Together is growing now that Laura is equipped to face the challenges that come with scaling her ministry.
Foster Together supports and equips children and families touched by foster care in the St. Louis region. In 2018 Laura started collecting clothing, shoes, and baby items in her basement. She then sorted and passed them along to children in foster care, free of charge.
The ministry quickly outgrew Laura’s basement. Laura knew God was calling her to grow her new start and involve more people. But she felt stuck.
“My biggest struggle was engaging others, communicating the vision I had, and understanding how to use each person’s skills and strengths to benefit the mission.”
Laura journeyed with a cohort through our StartNew curriculum. Working through our material alongside our coaches, she’s gained the knowledge and confidence she needed to grow her team and take her ministry to the next level.
“The coaching sessions have been a game-changer for us. Having such individualized care and support has definitely helped us fine-tune how we operate,” says Laura Storm of Foster Together.
One of our primary purposes in equipping sacred starters is providing spiritual and academic resources, community partnerships, coaching, and mentoring so these leaders can do the work they are called to do. Meeting mentors, finding like-minded peers, and sharing best practices sustains both the starter and the mission.
