Online customer support either succeeds or … not succeeds.
I spent two hours on the phone in that universe today. During which they took over my computer. Played around in my network. Mumblings about IP address conflicts with DHP and TTP thrown in just to confuse me.
A trojan horse was even mentioned. Yikes!
My printer stopped playing nice with my wireless network about a year ago. Me being me I simply hard-wired the printer into the computer and carried on. But when Mr. Printer started producing poorly printed pages regardless my corrective measures, I ordered his replacement.
Of course his replacement refused to play nice with the wireless network also.
Thus two hours in customer support heaven.
It didn’t feel like heaven. Watching the screens move around. Wondering if someone in Russia was downloading all of my personal info and sending it to someone in China only to be routed back to someone in an underground bunker in Texas.
But then the printer started working and kept working. Deep breaths returned. Heavy burden gone. I gave the guy 4 out of 4 stars.
Today’s almost-nightmare felt oddly familiar to other parts of my life.
I’ve got a problem. Try to bypass it for a season. Finally give up and call the Guy Upstairs.
It’s usually not solved immediately since it took me a while to create it.
It doesn’t feel like heaven while I’m waiting. I’m thinking maybe I’m being scammed.
But then I follow His instructions. Shut down that program. Give Him access to explore the inner workings of the whole system.
Panic abates. Life gets back on track.
If not it’s usually because I called the wrong customer support. Looked for solutions in the wrong place. Ignored Jesus. His Word. His Holy Spirit-trained technicians.
Which doesn’t make a lot of sense for someone in Jesus for almost 60 years. What can I say?
Thankfully Divine Customer Support doesn’t hold grudges and really knows what He’s doing.
He’s definitely worth 4 stars.
