My wife tutors math. In person and online. Mainly high school through calculus. An occasional statistics.

The improvement in her students astounds me. From failing to B’s and A’s. Time and time again. 

She’s a tutoring savant. A math student whisperer.

Her success flows partially from her knowledge of math and how to explain it understandably. 

It flows also from her ability to help students learn how to learn. How to self-feed instead of being spoon-fed.

Jesus calls people to be His disciples. To follow Him. His grace-filled lifestyle. His teachings on truth and brokenness. His ability to live under authority without resentment.

It’s hard to be a disciple of someone or something you know nothing about.

It’s hard to follow someone when you can’t see where they’re going. 

If you’re looking for Jesus tutoring, start by reading John’s Gospel. Then Acts. Then Romans.

Ask yourself, “What is God telling me about Himself?” “What is God telling me about me?” “What is God telling me about what it looks like to live in His family?”

God gave us His Word so that we could learn to follow Jesus. So that we could self-feed instead of being spoon-fed.

Actually, it’s about being Spirit-fed.
