The crushed granite delivery landed this morning. In the midst of sprinkles.
It’s supposed to pour the next few days so today seemed the best-case scenario.
The light showers sprinkled with misty stretches brought a calming effect. I don’t do cold and it wasn’t. No wind blowing water in my face. Just a relaxing sort of shoveling and raking morning.
Definitely beats sweating and sunburning.
I wonder what part of your day will be misty? A stretch you’re forecasting to be full of stress. A couple hours you’ve already written off as messy.
But becomes an unexpected surprise bringing joy.
It slows things down. Changes the view just enough that you see the landscape in a richer light. More green and vibrant.
Creates a heart quiet enough to give thanks even in the midst of work.
Too often I focus so laser on the tasks at hand that I resent the journey. It’s as if I appreciate the hours spent completing the work if and when the work is completed.
This morning was more a time of communion than ignoring. The mist made me more aware of God’s presence. Maybe because it applied a soft filter to everything.
Reminded me how God makes hard things soft. How being with Him turns mundane into meaningful. Turns work into reward.
May your day be misty.
